Come, Let Us Reason Together — Isaiah 1–6

In this episode of Lifespring! One Year Bible Rewind, Steve Webb reads Isaiah 1–6. God invites His people to talk with Him: “Come now, let us reason together.” At first, Isaiah calls out sin and false worship. However, the message does not stop with judgment. Instead, God still offers mercy to anyone who turns back. Later, Isaiah sees the Lord in His glory. The angels cry, “Holy, holy, holy.” A burning coal touches Isaiah’s lips, and his guilt is gone. Because of that grace, Isaiah answers God’s call and says, “Here am I. Send me.”

    Commentary

Isaiah begins with a courtroom picture. God loves His people, yet they have rebelled. Even so, He calls them to return. He does not ignore sin; rather, He offers forgiveness: “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow.” As a result, His justice and mercy meet in perfect balance. Later, Isaiah stands in God’s temple, overwhelmed by the vision. The Lord is holy, and Isaiah feels unclean. Then a coal from the altar touches his mouth, and his guilt is removed. Therefore, grace transforms fear into faith. Consequently, Isaiah is ready to go wherever God sends him.

Steve prays for the Lifespring Family. He asks God to renew strength and courage. In addition, he gives thanks for answered prayer. Furthermore, he prays that we will be ready, like Isaiah, to say, “Send me.” Through prayer, hearts grow stronger and faith deepens.

      Reflection & Application

Isaiah shows that repentance leads to renewal. Likewise, God’s grace is greater than our guilt. When we are honest with Him, He cleanses us and gives us purpose. Therefore, choose truth and humility today. Because God restores what sin breaks, His forgiveness not only heals—it also sends us out to serve. Finally, let His grace shape your response this week.
