The Quran mentions magic as a tool that can be used for three purposes. The first use of magic is to cause harm or hurt someone. The second use is to deceive others by controlling their vision. The third use is to create chaos or mischief between people, also known as fitnah in the Quran. Magic is not just a matter of words or wishful thinking. It requires specific acts, materials, and symbols to be recited or drawn. It is an art form, much like a craft, and it must be performed correctly in order to produce its intended effect. The devil, or shaitan, is responsible for bringing this craft to life, but the craft itself must be performed by a human. There are some humans who have increased their capacity and made contact with jinn, who then teach them how to perform magic. When the human performs the craft, the jinn and shaitan work together to bring the craft to life and affect the intended target.
