S13E15: Seher: The Power of Magic for Harm, Deception, and Conflict

Listen Later

Black magic, also known as the Sehr, is a form of harm that is often used against someone. To carry out this magic, one seeks out a practitioner who has contact with the jinn and asks them to perform a Sehr, or spell, against the intended target. The spell is then cast and the shaitan takes control, translating the magic into action. The result is that the target falls ill, with symptoms ranging from physical pain, such as headaches, fevers, and joint pain, to psychological disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and manic depression. Despite medical examinations, the cause of these symptoms cannot be explained.

In addition to physical and psychological harm, the target may also experience social problems, such as strained relationships with their spouse, family, or neighbors. This change in behavior is not due to a real psychological disease but rather a direct result of the magic.

The second use of sehr is for deception, as seen in the story of Moses and Pharaoh in the Quran. The Pharaoh used magicians to create an illusion of power, deceiving the people by controlling their senses. The magic created a hallucination, making people see things that were not real. Moses, who was unaffected by the spell, was able to prove that the magicians were just using tricks to deceive people. This use of Sehr is common in the circus, where magicians use the craft to control people's perceptions and make them see things that are not real. It is also used for entertainment. In India, for example, there are people who use magic to perform stunts, such as sitting in fire or walking on nails, that appear to be impossible. However, it is the control of people's perception that allows the performer to remain unscathed.

The third way magic impacts lives according to the Quran is by creating harm or "fitna." This type of magic is often used to start conflicts, fights, or problems between groups of people, such as two tribes or clans. It is believed that the practitioner of Sehar uses the power of magic to sow discord and create chaos. The use of Sehar is generally viewed as a negative and destructive form of magic and is condemned by Islamic scholars.

In conclusion, Sehr is a powerful tool that can be used for harm, deception, or entertainment. Regardless of its intended use, it is important to understand the dangers of black magic and be wary of its potential effects.
