I spend a lot of time talking about money. The big problem? Most people don't want to talk about money. This is especially true for law enforcement and other first responders.
Why is that exactly? I think it generally stems from the fear of "not knowing". It's not knowing where our money is going. Not knowing if we're doing something wrong (or when we're doing something right). It's not knowing how to save, or how much to save. It's not knowing what we'll need to retire on comfortably or how we'll afford to send our kids to college.
All of this "not knowing" causes us to disassociate and claim the mantra: "I'll figure it out later". The problem with that reaction is that sometimes "later" will be too late to actually do something about the situtation...which is why many of us rely on debt and then on to the next.
In this episode I get frank and personal about my own money journey, in hopes that it gives others the space to feel comfortable to start talking about their own.
Let's start talking about money. This is a judgement free zone designed to help you start to feel comfortable about one of the most stressful topics we face today...MONEY.
