- Spend time reading many books on a specific topic or area

- With fiction, narrative non-fiction, and pop non-fiction, read quickly

- With more serious non-fiction, theology, take more time, see if you can summarise what you’ve just read to yourself after each reading session or chapter

- Talk about what you’ve read with others

- Find ways to connect what you're reading with other areas of life
