The fossa (Cryptoprocta ferox; or ; Malagasy pronunciation: [ˈfusə̥];) is a carnivorous mammal that is endemic to Madagascar. It is a member of the Eupleridae, a family of carnivorans closely related to the mongoose family Herpestidae.
