Jess Phillips has been Labour MP for Birmingham Yardley since 2015. An outspoken critic of the Labour leadership under Jeremy Corbyn, she now sits on the front bench as the shadow Minister for Domestic Violence and safeguarding. Recently to coincide with International Women’s day and the high-profile murder of Sarah Everard, Jess read out the names of 118 women and girls who were killed where a man has been charged as primary perpetrator. Jess has run a campaign which saw children from Birmingham deliver a petition to Downing Street in protest at school cuts and her own father Stewart was a teacher.
