Tony Berkeley, joined the Lords firstly in 1994 as a Hereditary Peer and from 2001 as a Life Peer. As a civil engineer his career was spent designing and building huge transport infrastructure projects and whilst at Eurotunnel he was instrumental in the campaign to get permission for, and constructing, the Channel Tunnel.
