Playing the part of the character Detective Dixon Hill from his favorite book series, Picard enters the holodeck along with his resident history expert, Officer Whalen, as well as Beverly Crusher, and of course Mr. Data. All is well until... The holodeck screws up and not only are they stuck in the holonovel and surrounded by armed gangsters, but the safety protocols are off so the unreal bullets can do some very real damage.
