I was reading the story of Ruth yesterday, and before beginning I watched the Bible Project's book overview, and one of the things they pointed out was that interestingly, God is not mentioned more than a handful of times in the book of Ruth. However, the way He was acting and working these women's story into His larger narrative and plan for redemption was extremely evident. Stories like Ruth's are great to go back to time and time again, especially in those moments where we feel like we don't understand what's happening, we might even feel God far and absent... but He's not. He is always there and He acts for His glory and for our good.
With these ideas in mind, I decided to read one of my blog posts on the podcast. Perhaps you've already read it, in which case I hope it encouraged you anew. Perhaps you haven't, in which case I hope you're built up and encouraged in hearing it. It's one of my favourite stories to tell, because like in Ruth's story, God's hand is so evident in everything that was happening, even if it wasn't as obvious all the time in the moment. This is the story of how I came to Vancouver almost eight years ago. This piece is titled "Thirty Thousand Feet Above the Ground"
