It’s that time of year again and everyone is making resolutions but not you…you’re going to make a S.M.A.R.T goal.  The majority of people just make a “goal” but those are worthless most of the time.

What is a S.M.A.R.T goal and why are they so much better than the alternative for getting stuff done?

Specific:

  • “I want to lose weight”
  • Measurable:

    • “I want to lose at least 30 pounds of weight”
    • Achievable:

      • “I want to lose at least 30 pounds of weight by watching what I eat, walking 10k steps a day and not drinking calories”
      • Realistic:

        • “I want to lose at least 30 pounds of weight or 4.2 pounds per month by watching what I eat, walking 10k steps a day and not drinking calories. ”
        • Time-Based:

          • “I want to lose at least 30 pounds of weight or 4.2 pounds per month by watching what I eat, walking 10k steps a day and not drinking calories before my birthday at the end of July 2022. ”
