Was this a bad attempt at introducing the Borg?  Was this an attempt to introduce a long lasting story arch that would define Trek as we know it?  Nope...a big bucket of nope...so ever disappointingly not even close.  But we still had a lot of fun watching it, and we get so see an old dude kick Worf's tuchus.
