But Czech is a language spoken only by ten million people in a small country situated between Germany and Austria. So what does it mean to be Czech to Veronika who had grown up in Bucharest, Budapest, Johannesburg, Moscow and London? What does being Czech mean to Cate when everyone only saw her as American despite her never having lived there before 2015?
