Cessationism is a Protestant doctrine that spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues, prophecy and healing ceased with the Apostolic Age. It was initially developed by reformers such as John Calvin.
Xenolalia is the ability to speak in a language which the individual has not learned.
Glossolalia is the phenomenon of speaking in an unknown language, especially in religious worship. It is practiced especially by Pentecostal and charismatic Christians.
Exegesis is the critical explanation or interpretation of a text, especially of scripture.
