In Matthew 7:21–23, Jesus speaks sobering words: “Many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord…’ and I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you.’” This episode confronts the difference between spiritual activity and true intimacy with God.

Jesus did not deny the works—He denied the relationship. Power, gifting, and public fruit are not proof of intimacy. A person can preach, prophesy, cast out demons, and still be unknown to Christ. This message is not about condemnation, but an invitation back to the secret place, where real knowing is formed.
