After a brief hiatus in recordings, we couldn’t be happier to be back in your ears and what meatier topic to launch season 2 with than the wonder that is sleep!  

Described by health experts as the “elixir of life”, sleep is the single most effective thing you can do to reset your brain and body health each and every day. Democratically available to all at no cost, it is the third pillar of health alongside diet and exercise. And yet more than one third of adults in many developed nations fail to obtain the recommended 7 to 9 hours of quality nightly sleep.  


But why is it so important and why do so many of us still maintain this machismo attitude to sleeping as little as we can get away with? 

 

In this episode we discuss the consequences of insufficient sleep to our health and wellbeing, the barriers to achieving a good night’s rest, how it impacts training and nutrition and the simple sleep hygiene tips that can help you improve your sleep quality and quantity.
