Black women are the backbone of this country and throughout the years, they have served in many roles. While the recognition has gone unnoticed in many places, one role where Black women have always been placed on a pedestal is in their family. The Black Matriarch is incomparable, but is that position slowly losing its importance in Black culture? While the 80s and 90s boasted of the Claire Huxtables of the world, the Black Matriarch looks completely different in 2020 so has she lost her crown?
