🎥 Recorded at @DicksSportingGoods House of Sport in North OKC
On this episode of the ROK Podcast with Coach Love, I sit down with Bryson Buckingham to talk hoops, hunger, and what it looks like when talent actually puts in the work. Bryson reflects on being part of two Edmond North state championship teams, and explains that even though he was injured during those title runs, he was still part of the team and the program.
He also breaks down his stellar career at Casady High School, where he earned MaxPreps Player of the Year honors along with All-State and All-City recognition. After a one-year stop at Link Academy, Bryson kept leveling up and earned a scholarship to the University of Cincinnati, where he’s currently on the roster.
More than stats and awards, Bryson talks about staying blessed but focused. He recognizes that not every athlete gets real opportunities, so when you do, you take advantage, keep grinding, and don’t quit. He also shares memories of playing in my Super16 All-Star Games as a middle school athlete, an event built to showcase Oklahoma’s top 7th and 8th grade players and give them early exposure to high-level competition.
