S2 E3: Craig Glunt - Sapphire Proficiency Testing, A2LA Lead Assessor
Craig is the President/Owner of Sapphire Proficiency Testing where he is working to provide calibration and testing laboratories with solutions to meet the requirements of ISO/IEC-17025.
Craig has maintained a career in the Metrology field since 1997. His experience has been gained through working at top manufacturing companies like Mettler Toledo, Dell Computers and ENtek IRD/Rockwell Automation.
In 2002, Craig obtained a position in the metrology department at the Battelle Memorial Institute, where he developed and managed technical calibration programs for nearly 15 years.
In 2012, Craig became a Contracted Lead Assessor for the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation, where he has performed over 200 assessments to date.
In 2019, Craig was awarded the A2LA “Assessor Choice Award” at the A2LA annual Technical Forum.
In 2020, Craig purchased Sapphire Proficiency Testing to provide the calibration and testing community with quality, reliable and affordable solutions to their proficiency testing needs. His experiences with A2lA as an Assessor drove him to look for ways to help labs meet the specific requirements related to ISO/IEC 17025. Sapphire PT strives to provide highly effective products and is establishing a reputation as a reliable source for proficiency testing services. Sapphire PT sees it as an opportunity for laboratories to utilize external PT services to reduce the risks related to maintaining and monitoring internal control methods.
