New year, new fitness gadget?  

In this age of tech mania, there are bound to be a few of our listeners who put wearable fitness trackers on their Santa list.  So, what better time to discuss some of the benefits and potential dangers of these devices as we pose the question, when is it too much information?  

 

It’s a saturated market with all manner of devices available, packed with an abundance of features.  But how accurate are they and are we now in danger of having access to too much data to the point of overwhelm, confusion and obsession?  Are we becoming slaves to these devices such that they dictate our mood, energy levels and readiness to exercise?

 

It cannot be disputed that monitoring our health and fitness metrics can be hugely beneficial. After all, what gets monitored gets managed. But for some, constant monitoring and obsession around this health data can have a huge psychological impact.  So, where do you sit on this sliding scale?  How is your relationship with your fitness wearable?  We discuss all this and more in today’s episode.
