Hey Fam! Welcome Back to THE NEW AFROLIT!
This week, I got a chance to have a conversation with the amazing singer and song-writer Mumbi Kasumba to talk all things African creativity and if it is becoming one-dimensional? When someone says, African music, we forget to realize that there are 54 nations with a VARIETY of genres, including neo-soul and indie sounds....We discussed if all sounds can be acknowledged and glorified! We discussed:
-Is the African Culture accepting of Afro-Indie/New soul music?
-Working the 9-5 while being creative: a HUMBLING experience
