S2 E5 - Exploring aesthetics, Aphrodite and being perceived (ew)
WE ARE BACK!
Yes yes I know I said I’d get back into regular podcasting, but I still haven’t got the balance right! I’m hoping I’ll be back on the bandwagon very soon.
In this episode I chat a little about where I’ve been, before moving onto discuss my own personal journey combining aesthetics with Aphrodite work. I speak about how Aphrodite pushes us to consider our own connection to visibility and being perceived, as well as owning the “downsides” to magic, witchcraft, and “achieving” the work we have set out to do - including with this particular work, understanding the sexualisation of my own body & clothing, past and present. Dressing in ways that make me feel confident and powerful, on one hand helps me to heal my visibility wound, and on the other, DOES inherently attract more danger and attention I don’t want.
I also speak about my own journey understanding my gender, and the difference between my gender and how I physically present to the world. Excited for you to listen to my reflections on aesthetics, visibility and my connection to Aphrodite!
