For centuries much of Christianity has used the word “Pharisee” as an insult, a pejorative term, a word synonymous with Hypocrite, or a Legalist.
This is still especially true of Protestants, after having separated from the Catholic church - and influenced by Martin Luther's projections of the Papacy - solidified the Pharisees as the evil antagonists of Jesus.
In this episode, we will offer an historical course correction for all truth-seekers. Is there spiritual impairment for slandering a people group with a broad-brush? Will it make a difference or is this understanding too ingrained?
