Hoops & Crumbs with the Browns

S2 E9: We Forgot To Post So Here We Are

Listen Later

We disappear for a couple months, then realize the funniest part is we weren’t actually gone, we just forgot to hit publish. So we’re back with a warm, real-life catch-up that feels like sitting at the kitchen counter while the mics are already on. We talk about what’s changed, what’s been busy, and why showing up consistently is harder than it sounds when life gets full.

You’ll hear about our behind-the-scenes podcast setup as we experiment with bringing Hoops and Crumbs to YouTube, plus the small details that make recording feel like a “whole production” even at home. We also get into Esteban’s new job as a camp counsellor, the good days and the chaotic days, and how a new schedule can squeeze out the simple things like baking, cooking dinner, and actually seeing each other on weekends. Yes, we still debate cookies, brownies, blondies, and whether dark chocolate blueberry snacks belong in a batch.

Then we tell the story of joining Filipinos in the Six, a Toronto run club that nails the vibe: leave your ego at the door, run an easy 5K, and build community. From the downtown route to ending at Makilala for Filipino food (and the meaning of “makilala”), the big takeaway is that fitness gets better when it connects you to people. If you love basketball podcast energy but also want community, food, and real-life talk, press play, then subscribe, share with a friend, and leave us a review.

Have a question for us to ask each other? We’d love to hear it!
