When Paul the Apostle was using the experience of the children of Israel in the Old Testament to urge the Corinthian church to pursue godliness he said, “Now all these things happened to them (Israelites) as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come” (1 Cor 10:13). Paul used the story of the Israelites as a basis for his admonishment because he believed that, as a people chosen and called to be the light of the world, Christians could draw from Israel’s failures and experiences to bear faithful witness to God’s reign on earth. It has been about two thousand years since Paul wrote his letter and his story and that of the New Testament characters are now contained in the Christian Scripture (the Bible) to help Christians glean lessons from believers' journey with God in the past. In this season’s podcast, Ebenezer seeks to create "conversation scenarios" with some of the characters in the Bible to help his audience appreciate their story better and exhort them on faithful Christian witness. In this introductory episode, he explicates the purpose of this season’s innovative project and how his audience can benefit from it.
