It’s a New Year and I love to take this time after Christmas to reevaluate all the stuff that is taking up space in my home. It’s kind of like taking inventory in a store, we have categories of things from perishable in the kitchen, to everyday use items all the way down to stored mementos of time and loved ones past. I absolutely love to declutter and organize because when you bring back order to chaos you can find more peace and an easiness to rest.
I have broken my method down to five steps when I start our decluttering season although I do find it important to note this is not something I do once a year but rather seasonally and as needed. The longer you wait and put off organizing and decluttering the harder it is. Trust me I am a queen procrastinator. However, over the years I have learned that a little bit of organizing each day goes a long way in helping keep a home long term that’s why at the end I have also included some tips for daily decluttering.
