Ever catch yourself telling someone that maybe or you'll try to attend their event or commit to that thing when really, you have no intention or desire to? Have you ever not responded to someone by ghosting them and leave them hanging because you just don't know how to say no? I get it, and as a former people pleaser, I've done it too. What is the cost of this behaviour in terms of how it is impacting our relationships and how others view us? Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a people pleaser as “a person who has an emotional need to please others often at the expense of his or her own needs or desires.” Are we compromising our own needs and integrity through our need to people please? I discuss all of the above in this episode! Let's do and be better by unlearning people pleasing and instead learn how to authentically communicate with others while keeping (and honouring) our power.
