Using the example of actual animals in comparison to Pokémon, we know how we associate certain creatures with certain environments; think of sharks in relation to water, as one example. Pokémon Typings are based on this premise - the idea that these diverse beings are associated with a specific kind of element. But what are those elements? What is a Pokémon typing? What are its functions, and how does this factor into general gameplay? The Lore Research Lab's infamous duo attempts at coherently explaining and deconstructing what a Pokémon Type is.

(Creator's Note: Refer to Episode 2 discussing Pokémon so this episode will make sense. In this episode, there is mentioning of folklore that is known in the real world; this information is solely being discussed from a scholarly perspective. Also big apologies for the awkward cuts in previous episodes, including this one; I have been having editing issues and things have been hectic (as of this recording - it was recorded in advance but I have been too busy to post until now); sorry folks. We do not claim ownership over the products, sources, and images that come from this game; images have been taken from our own copies of the game and are solely being used for entertainment purposes. Enjoy this picture of Rowlet, a Pokémon personal favourite of mine.)
