Sophia is a 1st year PhD student in Biochemistry at Stanford University, where she is currently rotating in labs. Her previous research included her Masters work on in vivo mRNA display, a high-throughput technique developed in the Tavazoie Lab at Columbia University to study protein interactions. When not playing around with proteins, Sophia enjoys participating in STEM outreach and mentorship which she has been involved in since her undergraduate days at UMass Lowell. In her spare time, you can find Sophia climbing at the local rock gym or enjoying a mug of herbal tea.
