In this first episode of Season 2, Diane and John dive into aspects of Hawaii that make the remote island both alluring and dangerous.  We look back on Hawaii's history as it transitioned into a US territory and then state following WW2.  We also explore the modern day dynamics and dangers of the islands' wild side and the risks visitors may be taking as they go off the beaten path.  Finally, this episode brings attention to the under-reported case of Khiara Henry, the 23-year old Californian who has been missing and was last seen in Maui in the summer of 2019.
