S2 Ep19 Aurielle Jioya- Being a Creator and Dealing with Prejudice

Listen Later

Aurielle Jioya has been passionate about cinema since she was very young. She graduated from the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema at Concordia University in Montreal. She made her debut as a director by creating 3 short films. In 2010, she founded Jioya Production, and ensures all stages of production in full autonomy. In the era of globalization, her filmography explores the notions of cultural diversity, an aspect that she deepens because of her Beninese origins. Aurielle explores storytelling through documentary, fiction and art video. Her films frequently address women's issues, content that illustrates an inclusive and diverse narrative from multicultural voices.
