This week Hannah interviews Tigz Rice from Boudoir By Tigz and Branding By Tigz.
Tigz Rice is a Boudoir and Branding Photographer based in Hertfordshire, UK, who helps fearless humans re-connect with their bodies & feel empowered, confident & unapologetically present in both their personal and professional adventures. Combining luxury editorial photography with her own signature style of industry-leading retouching, Tigz helps her clients level up their digital visibility by providing a portfolio of stunning on-brand images, enabling them to show up consistently with fresh, authentic content that perfectly portrays their unique personality, style and values.
Consistently pushing creative boundaries wherever possible, Tigz focuses on fearless femme fatale strength and loves to challenge the male gaze in both her private and commercial photography. In 2017 Tigz was voted the world’s leading female burlesque photographer in 21st Century Burlesque’s Burlesque Top 50 – as voted for by the burlesque community. In 2020, Tigz stripped off for the BBC’s Naked Podcast to talk about body confidence, the importance of existing in photographs and how to love and celebrate our bodies just the way they are. And in 2021, Tigz was listed as one of Digital Women's Top 40 Digital Women To Watch, as well as being shortlisted for Digital Woman of the Year.
Tigz is also an award-winning author, with her new book STRIP/TEASE - documenting a decade of work in the global burlesque community - winning a bronze medal in the 2020 IPPY independent publishing awards.
Hannah chats to Tigz about how she moved from Boudoir Photographer to Branding Photography, why it is so important to have that human connection, how even Am Dram performers still get nervous before an IGTV Live and her advice for finding additional income streams. Plus Tigz shares her top tips based on her own journey and what she has learnt along the way!
