When reflecting on the past year and how much improvement I have seen in my mental health, one of the biggest changes I’ve made is learning how and when to ask for help. Being vulnerable about your mental health struggles is beyond challenging but I have come to realize the more open you are with others and open you are to receiving help, the lighter mental load you have to carry alone. In this episode I shared the progression of me learning to ask for help and what support I actually found helpful. I deep dived into my experience with therapy as well as managing expectations for friends and family and their ability to offer support on top of their own lives.
