Fresh From The Esky

S2 Episode 13: What have we done in 50 years?

Listen Later

Something a little different from the esky this week. With the upcoming 50 year celebrations of the Wandal/Glenmore Bulls aussie rules club (a club that Ledge himself has played a multitude of mediocre games for) the "Fresh From the Esky" team decide to have a day out at the footy. A day that see's Ledge chat to the likes of Dunno, Cini and Sharpie people that were there right at the start of not only the Bulls but the Aussie rules footy code in Rockhampton Central Queensland. He also speaks with the then young boys they recruited to the code Borgy and Dessie, and don't forget the southern state interlopers that came to play like croweater Thommo and Victoria's own "Italian Stallion" Frankie. They chat about cutting down tree's from the Berserker ranges for goal posts, emptying the long drop dunny(there is even a story attached to how said dunny arrived) and much more. But all done with a twinkle in the eye and smile on the little more wrinkled face,s as you can tell they are memories of good times spent with good friends on a somewhat pioneering expedition of the times. So have a listen, share if you like, rate us on your listening platform, follow "Fresh rom the Esky" on instagram . Fresh From the Esky now listened to in 12 counties outside of Australia.
