It is true that sometimes the general public hears "event planner" and automatically assumes "wedding planner" - which can create false perceptions about the wide range of opportunities available in the multi-billion dollar meetings and event industry.  With this said, it should not mean that those who are called to be wedding planners should be looked down upon!
