It can be HARD work to pinpoint the roots of your struggles with porn or other addictions. However, its the KEY to long lasting healing and freedom. If you dont get to the roots, you will never change the fruit. If you never change the fruit, you will never experience the joy of Christ.
Heres what I wrote in the DeepClean community:
If your trauma and unmet needs have to do with things that DID NOT happen, it's going to be pretty hard to remember specific events that hurt you.
Why? Because what was your "normal" is the very trauma you must pinpoint.
Try this tweak: Think about the things you wish you had growing up (emotionally, physically, spiritually) and ask "how did not having that affect me?"
Be really honest here AND PLEASE, consider it from a child's perspective, not your adult perspective.
