S2.E21 - The National Day of Mourning & The Truth About Thanksgiving

Listen Later

The National Day of Mourning was started in November of 1970 by Wamsutta James, a Wampanoag man, in response to the censoring of a speech he was asked to give at the anniversary celebration of the Pilgrims landing on Plymouth Rock. Listen in to find out why his speech was suppressed and discover ways that you can observe The National Day of Mourning this year.

In the episode I mention:

  • United American Indians of New England - LIVE Stream of the observance
  • The Real History of Thanksgiving
