In this week’s episode, Chris sits down with Eric Westerkamp, CEO of CaliberMind - a B2B marketing analytic solution connecting directly to all of the data sources instead of plugging into a CRM. You may notice our new background, this is a preview for season 3 of PodSaas! Eric shares how he appreciates startups that disrupt the industry and offer a new perspective. He uses Zoom as an example and notes how they had to compete with well established players such as Google, Microsoft, etc. and were able to create a user-friendly platform. Growing up, he actually wanted to create special effects for movies. We discuss his first startup and how they went through some hardships where they had to make some cuts. He shares how many of his co-workers were his friends and that made the decision even more challenging. From this experience, he learned the importance of empathy when it comes to making decisions like this. Looking into the future, CaliberMind is building a system to make data easily understood and utilized.
