Did It Cross The Line

S2E26: Voldemort's Spunk

Listen Later

After a weekend of lockdown birthday celebrations, Rebecca and Alex are back to catch up on what's been happening in the world of football over the last couple of weeks.
We delve into Liverpool's now-reversed decision to furlough some non-playing staff and the backlash that ensued. We discuss why the idea caused so much controversy, how the owners responded, as well as the wider political issues surrounding it.
We also discuss the Players Together initiative led by Jordan Henderson and other Premier League captains, and some of the other great work done by clubs and players to support people and the NHS during this difficult period.
There's plenty of chat about Matt Hancock's comments about Premier League footballers donating wages, as well as the wider misconceptions around footballers and money, the media's role in that, and how the PFA have completely failed to defend players during this crisis.
And we've definitely learned what not to do during a global pandemic, courtesy of Jose Mourinho, Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish.
Plus, lethal margaritas, rabbit Hitler, Snape cardboard cutouts, the crime of different coloured slippers, smoke and mirrors, spilled coffee, sardine oil, Rebecca as Storm, and the Netflix sensation 'Tiger King'.
