It’s time for the first episode of the August blend of the month: Women of SciFi. Although female directors have not often been entrusted with original sci-fi films, there are still some interesting options out there. Scott and Christian start their look at this topic with a film that made its director the most financially successful female director at the time: Deep Impact. Coming out the same year as Michael Bay’s similarly-themed Armageddon, Deep Impact made $350 million at the global box office, but was poorly reviewed.
