Summary
n Chapter 11 of Ecclesiastes, the author gives advice that's not pessimistic. He starts by saying it's good to help others and give generously, comparing it to a farmer planting seeds that will grow. You should do this because your situation might change, and you could need help someday. He also suggests that young people should enjoy their youth but remember that God will judge their actions, so they should avoid sin.
Chapter 12 talks about getting older and how life becomes harder. Our bodies weaken, and eventually, we die. The author, who's now referred to as the Preacher, emphasizes that these are wise words given by God, to guide us through life's challenges.
The conclusion is that we should respect God and follow His law. This is our main purpose because God will judge everything we do, good or bad.
Real happiness and peace comes from knowing and pleasing God. Everything else leaves us empty and distant from God. For Christians, this happens through a personal connection with Jesus. Solomon, despite not knowing Jesus' name, still found hope in God, just like Abraham did.
I've learned similar lessons. When I've strayed from what I knew was right, I've felt empty. It's only by holding onto God that I've found unwavering peace and a joy that's not based on circumstances.
I hope you've also discovered this amazing truth in your life. Jesus wanted us to have a rich and full life. That's what I want for you too.

Steve Webb 0:48Ecclesiastes chapter 11. Cast your bread upon the waters for you will find it after many days, give a serving to seven that also to aid for you do not know what evil will be on the earth. If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth. and if a tree falls to the south or the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie. He who observes the wind will not sell. and he who regards the clouds will not reap, as you do not know what is the way of the wind, or how the bones grow in the womb of her who was with child. So you do not know the works of God who makes everything in the morning. So your seed and in the evening, do not withhold your hand. For you do not know which will prosper either this or that,
