I have a confession, I am a curriculum hoarder. Ask my husband, he’s ready to lose his mind over the amount of books I have in my basement. But I have (what I feel is) a valid excuse… I am also a curriculum reviewer. Companies send me curriculum to try with my kids and review and in a sense, that has really ruined me. Over the past two years I have discovered that there is more great, amazing, “BEST” curriculums out there than I can use. I love them all (well, almost all). This week we have been going strong in our lessons and I have come to realize that while it is all great, that doesn’t mean it is all great right now. I have five littles who all need me all at once, I have to condense what we are doing so that we still have time to pursue our interests and passions and go on rabbit trails (the BEST part about homeschooling). Right now my homeschool feels anything but free. So this podcast episode comes at kind of a strange time.
After multiple requests to do a post about what we are using I decided to just be honest with you guys, share what we have on our shelves and what I *have* been using, but to tell you that we are in the middle of some shifting and there are changes on the horizon. I plan on doing a part II continuation of this episode sharing a new rhythm of what we are doing and how it is working for us. I think looping will definitely be a part of that episode.
