S2|E5 Killer Apps 2: OneNote and the PARA system for project management

Listen Later

A dream is a goal without a project.  If you are going after your dream, you need a project and a project manager.  For this I prefer OneNote.  Join me as I share why this will better organize things for you, and exactly how I set my OneNote project manager up.  This is the final installment of the killer apps.  I hope you enjoyed it.  You may need to take notes on this episode.

The reasons I like OneNote[my ramblings]

  1. You can voice dictate into it at about 150 words per minute you can do this from your phone or PC and it helps me go over my morning pages highlights without having to re type 'em  all
  2. It automatically syncs to all devices as soon as you input anything
  3. I like dark mode for the look I think it looks slick
  4. You can draw over top with an  Apple pencil or any drawing tool and it's actually pretty powerful
  5. You can print from any page or section
  6. You basically have the power of Microsoft Word built in what you are doing on any page
  7. The immersive reader is helpful to hear what you wrote like on show blurbs or an important email before you send it. For people that are proofreading challenged like me this is awesome
  8. You can clip a section from a web page and paste it into OneNote and it automatically attaches the link to the page . This is useful when you want to go back and look at the whole thing later whether it's tomorrow or a year from now
  9. Unlike something like Google Drive, everything is right there in front of you but it's not overwhelming. The Para method helps for that.
  10. By having all of your areas of responsibility like work house kids wife organizations you belong to and all of your hobbies, you can just click into them and put an idea in any of those areas whether you want to start a project or not
  11. Portions of this taken from PARA METHOD by Tiago Forte - https://fortelabs.co/blog/para/
