On this episode of the podcast, we spoke with Kennisa Ragland.

Kennisa is earning her MFA in Film Production from Florida State University. She’s always been a high achiever throughout her education, a trait she feels was shaped and solidified by museum trips and “field trips” with her grandmother as a child.

However, beyond a passion for learning, Kennisa’s upbringing taught her the importance of love. In her words, “if you really want to do something, you can. When you can’t do something, it’s because you don’t think you can.” In other words, when love is at the center of your intentions, anything is possible.

Kennisa uses this philosophy in her filmmaking journey and her personal life. Besides helping her create honest and heartfelt films, setting love as an active intention allows her to be open and vulnerable with others.

As a film director, she realizes that the best directors are only the best because of the people they work with. Whether it be in film or life, Kennisa leads with love.
