I don't fail students - they don't do the work and they fail themselves. While a simple concept, this can easily be confused and just thought of that the "teacher doesn't like me and failed me".  In reality I just assign the grade in the gradebook.  Once of the most interesting things in my courses because of my grading structure is that students realize their own lack of effort and take full responsibility for it. Many of these students have often gone on to become some of my best mentees and lifelong friends.  Enter: Alex Morehead.

This is probably one of the funniest podcasts on the EE podcast to date. Alex has an amazing balance of enlightenment, cynicism, and wit that always makes him a delight to talk with and listen to.  This podcast, Alex talks about how failing a class is not the end of the world - it can actually be the beginning of it.  He discusses high standards, growth, and mindset.
