In a nutshell, to make a long story short without beating a dead horse they felt cool as a cucumber with cold feet on a wild goose chase because even though they were on top of the world making a pretty penny hand over fist keeping busy as a beaver lending a hand, it was hands down a blessing in disguise to be off the hook when they decided to pull themselves together, bite the bullet, and call it a night without cutting corners rain or shine only making it by the skin of their teeth in time to hit the hay before their ship sailed at the eleventh hour.
