The final chapter, Henry Jekyll’s Full Statement of the Case, is a typical mastermind’s plan reveal, except in this case it divulges his plan, his intentions, and where they went awry. His path fixing his plans went off and on the rails again and again, until he learned it was futile to fight the verdict. So, he writes to his last remaining friend and tells him, but mostly the listener, where the issues were. It may have been his ego urging him to write down his scientific accomplishments, so that everyone could know of Dr. Henry Jekyll achievements!
