Join us as Gever Tulley talks about his work at SF Brightworks, a project-based, student-driven learning center.
Gever founded Tinkering School in 2005, one of the earliest camp programs to focus on empowering children with tools. While the world focused on stunning images of children building amazing things, he was quietly handing over the running of the camp to the children. That collaboration was the inspiration for SF Brightworks, a school that is co-created with the students. Brightworks explores the world through the Arc Pedagogy, a framework for collaborative learning. Along the way, he wrote 50 Dangerous Things (you should let your children do), launched the Mars program which brings authentic NASA-inspired rover experiences to classrooms around the world, and is currently piloting GapLab, an immersive experience which helps students transitioning from high school reconnect with their best learning selves.
