Listen Later

What is the gospel? How would you answer? In this episode I discuss what Jesus and John the Baptist share about this good news.

Both call us to repent since the kingdom of heaven is at hand. We are also told that John the Baptist proclaimed a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sin. In this episode, we will explore the words of Jesus and John to better understand the gospel they preached.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Why we are called to repent
  • What is the gospel
  • What is the kingdom of heaven
  • Who is the Lamb of God
  • The difference between the kingdom and the gospel
  • Substitutionary Atonement
  • Episode Overview:

God does what we cannot do for ourselves, He saves us from death and restores our relationship with Him. Jesus and John the Baptist share this amazing rescue plan by preaching the gospel (the good news). This is a gift bestowed upon His undeserving enemy.

    Key Takeaway:

All rebelled against God and are dead in their sin

Jesus, the Lamb of God, voluntarily dies for our sins so that we may be restored to God

We are saved to do the goods works that God created for us
