I Changed My Mind

S3 Ep 5 Looking for Contributions, Not Silver Linings

Listen Later

It's amazing how contributions, small and large, are hidden in plain sight across a range of our experiences. How does looking for the contribution help you shift or adapt your perspective to the presenting situations you find yourself in?

I'm not a believer in the notion that everything that happens to us is for our highest good; much different in my eyes, is a knowing that oftentimes there is also a lot of good embedded in even some of the most challenging moments or situations.

So it's not about looking for silver linings, and it's definitely not about gaslighting ourselves into 'better-feeling thinking', but recognising that even in and amongst some of our most challenging situations, there may be a range of aspects or elements that, when we hone in on them, we can see serve us some way or some how.

And sometimes just asking ourselves the question can give us a fresh new perspective, a different kind of knowing or understanding, or an opportunity to resource ourselves some way or some how, that's also true, even in and amongst the challenging.
